Interesting. A light tent....

That's got to be uber-reflective though. Yeah, it must be. It wouldn't be possible to flood everything with light and get rid of reflections.

Interesting, but probably useless.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Who knows? Except it's thick glass and curved.

Still thinking about using real, 1% non-reflective glass on my scanner. I was wondering about acrylic clips for it...

Since I can't drill into glass, I'm trying to figure out how to hold it in place. I suppose two pieces of wood on each side, notched out to hold the glass, might work. I was trying to find something that would hold along the edges though. Then that holder part could be screwed into something connecting it to the pvc pipe.

These look interesting.

Or there might be something here with gluing a black strip around the top and side edges...

There may be something with these cheaper clamps.... Instead of screwing through acrylic, clamp onto glass. In several places to reduce pressure. Clamp onto the glass to hold the glass. Then bolt through the other end of the clamps. It would be a slight modification of the acrylic screw-through idea. I just can't quite picture it yet....

For the sides....

If I took something this shape, for the side of the glass...

That would hold the glass plate in place and leave a spot to bolt into.

And then this 90 degree metal bracket could attach on the outer part of that.

==============
For the top....

Same idea. Several brackets, one part holding the glass, the other end letting me use a metal connector...

That would put more pressure on the glass. The glass would be holding itself together. Stress put on the glass at the points where the holders connect.

I wonder if I could make it myself. It's just little pieces of metal with a screw pointed at the glass. A piece of rubber between the screw and glass might help.

Haha... El cheapo...

Actually if it was run along the whole edge... Wood just doesn't seem solid enough to hold a screw in place against glass for a length of time. Unless I made some kind of sandwich, glass being the meat. Glass slides halfway in between two wood slats. Wood slats are screwed together on the other half. Or use acrylic slats instead of wood....

Wow... Almost two years have gone by. I still want to do this. I've got the cameras. I found someone who have work with plastic. I was going to make the pvc model....

I'm getting a new computer. Thought of book scanner. Wondered what better for cpu and a graphics card if it matters for this.

I recently built a new computer. I went for more cores with a Intel 5820k (6cores). Usually with a new processor you also need new mother board & ram etc. For a graphic card I went for a 750Ti which was faster than my old one but not a new fast one. I do not think the speed of the graphic card matters, if I played games the answer may be different.
The new processor still runs at 100% some times. But it has never used 100% of the 16g of ram.
Using a hard drive or ssd or m.2 also needs to be considered.
Cost is a big consideration value/performance
Ends up being a personal choice
