Although most of my reading over the last few months has been on optics (mostly stuff by Sidney Ray, who is a hero of mine, along with Hyzer), I have a serious soft spot for books on tools. Especially books that teach me how to use them.
Today, I stumbled across two incredible archives of scanned books.
First, the The Evenfall Studios Woodworks Library, which goes a lot further than just woodworking. Mostly titles ripped from Google books.
Second, the Rose Antique Tools tool catalog archive. Be sure to check out the incredible illustrations in the American Axe and Tool caalog.
In the first DIY Book Scanner tutorial, I posted a pretty ugly scan of a US Navy Hand Tools manual. Here's a similar, more modern manual.

That's some cool stuff! Let me know if you come across plans for foot petal equitment. I have always wanted to make a foot powered band saw. I have heard about them but never seen one.

I'll keep my eyes peeled, T.

If you Google "treadle table band saw" you should come up with a
lot of links. Also "treadle table tools". I have an old frame for a
sewing machine I put a piece of glass on top of for a table and
can take a photo of the mechanism if you like. My grandmother
was still using one in the early 60'es but she had a motor put on
it. Wish I had the sewing part of it, those things can sew leather.
