Newspaper scans.

Post by hphistorical »

I admit it, I am real lazy. That being said, I also have a lot of books to scan. Here's an example of what I am generating. May bot be perfect, but it is readable and preserving without taking apart the bound book.

Very good.
I found that bound magazines also was difficult to get the centre join flat.

You may be interested looking at Trove (google it). Newspapers across Australia for 100+ years are available (well not all). One feature is the crowd editing. OCR is difficult on the old papers. Any one can register and then do editing on the arcticles they are interested. I was looking for Avenues of Honour after WWI in Coburg.

The site will be shut for a few days for a update next week.
