As a geek with good computer skills, but lacking any significant mechanical / fabricating skills I doubt my ability to complete a build from scratch. It's not so much the assembly, but the cutting, & drilling that do me in.
So, does anyone either A) have a kit they would like to sell, or B) have any suggestions on how to find someone locally with mechanical skills to fabricate for me.
Thanks for any advice.

I doubt you could mess it up if you were to try. I haven't done it just yet, but making one shouldn't be that hard. It's like LEGO, except you can hurt yourself if you do it wrong.
By my estimates, I think that the people at the hardware store can actually do most of it for you. All you'd need to do is just drill the holes and screw it together.
