The DokuPuppyLinux site is maintained by Dingodog, who's a site member here, so maybe he can help you?
The 2nd one seems to work. An error about libgif.so.4 popped up but didn't stop PDFBeads.

Finally managed to create one (>400-page, 46MB), viewable under Acrobat Reader, but the color/greyscale graphics aren't showing up under Adobe Digital Editions (Windows) and ezPDF (Android).

It's totally unviewable under Mantano but that's probably another issue.

Cheers.

Edit: It seems that it's something to do with JPEG2000 and JBIG2 support.

Edit2: Installed libgif and JBIG2 is now working, final file becomes little more than 20MB.

Edit3: After getting JBIG2 working, black/white content are viewable on all platforms.

Edit4: That JBIG2 binary doesn't work on 64-bit platform. Had to compile manually. Downloadable here: http://ifile.it/yczmaxs

As I've said earlier, neither of those are very good options for someone who primarily wants a PDF, not DjVu. They usually either sacrifice quality and size, or lose crucial features (like mixed images and bitonal text), or both.
