Using 41 mp Nokia Pureview as camera for Book Scanning?

Post by Gadgety » 11 Jun 2013, 01:56

Nokia's 41MP Pureview phone offers 3x lossless zoom, and autofocus from 15 cm to infinity. It's getting cheaper and is about to get replaced with Windows Phone unit, which probably means the price will fall even further. Smartphones like these come with OCR scanning for business cards, and can be connected via WiFi, BT etc for file transfer. Did anyone try this? I guess there are several limitations, including software.

I'm very interested in having one in general, for book scanning and otherwise. How cheap have you seen them?

£325 SIM free incl sales tax in the UK. It's bound to go down when they introduce the Lumia EOS Pureview shortly. Amazing picture quality.
