Hi there,
Melvin Elizondo y Tony Kong studends in the project of "Información libre y tecnología" (free information and technology) which is part of the "Laboratorio experimental" (a newborn kind of hackerspace) in the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (Alajuela) are currently working in a debian package for the chdkptp software.
If someone is interested in following the progress, is free to pay a visit to the github repository https://github.com/LabExperimental-SIUA/chdkptp_debian
(is not ready yet, but is close to be functional)
Best regards,
Aurelio

Re: CHDKPTP debian package
This is great. Installing chdkptp along with its dependencies was one of the most frustrating parts of installing spreads by hand.

Re: CHDKPTP debian package
Great to see somebody else work on this, too
I've had chdkptp packages in the spreads repository (http://apt.diybookscanner.org/raspbian/ ... c/chdkptp/) for a while now, though it was done in a pretty messy way.
If you feel confident and want to contribute the package to the official Debian repository, get in touch with markvandenborre, he can help you
