very useful

since I run Puppy Linux and developing environment is frugal (I had problems in compiling qt apps), are you interested in making STATIC version so app can run on any Linux?

I know these compiling tasks may be annoying, so I only ask without obligation

thanks anyway

To compile static Qt apps it needs static Qt4 libraries. openSUSE doesn't provide them.

New package for openSUSE users — Tesseract-GUI.

Image

Only text output. Batch conversion and recognition.
Supported languages: English, Spanish, Dutch, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian. It's possible to add all languages that have tesseract-traineddata, but I'm too lazy.

Lazy_Kent, thanks so much for contributing these openSUSE packages. I'm making extensive use of your tesseract, pdfbeads, and exact-image RPMs. (In fact, your repository is the only source I could find for the exact-image binaries and sources—neither seems to be available on the developer's website.) I'm subscribing to this thread in eager anticipation of further announcements!

I see Tesseract 3.02 was released a few days ago. Are there any plans for updating the version in the Lazy Kent openSUSE Build Service repository?
