Due to the limitations of my configuration, i cannot consistently zoom in on the page alone and sometimes, the sides/floor are being pictured too. how do i get scan tailor (or abbyy finereader 11) to auto detect these edges, then auto-crop them to cut out wasted space?
thanks!

Re: how to get program to auto-detect page edges?
If your results are consistent, you can just crop all of your pictures by the same amount to remove the problematic edges.
I've used Phatch for batch image processing and it worked pretty well.

I'm working on this for ScanTailor right now It will be possible to use this information to keep original page layout. Stay tuned
