Re: DIY Book Scanner Kits Now Available!
I have two questions:
Any estimates on when more kits will be available?
About how much do the kits run for? I don't usually have much spare cash so will need to save in advance.

Hi Guys
I tried to download CNC cutting plans, and the link shows the message: ACCESS DENIED.
Does anyone know where I can get the files?
Thank you!

Re: DIY Book Scanner Kits Now Available!
gutto12, I see the broken link and I will repair it. I'll post here when it is fixed (should be within a day or so).
However, this is an older model scanner which has since been replaced by Daniel's Archivist design. The Archivist is much better documented and can also be cut out with a CNC. Take a look at the Archivist website here:
http://diybookscanner.org/archivist/
I have had a lot of experience building Archivist scanners. So if you have any questions about it or want advice on how best to cut it out and get the parts, let me know and I can advise.

The link at the top of the page should be fixed. Please let me know if you see any other broken links that need to be fixed as well.

Duerig,
Thanks for the feedback ... I'll check the possibility of building it here in Brazil.

Hi guys
I think the link below is without the dimensions of each piece. Does anyone have the cut plane with the values in millimeters ??
The company that cuts laser uses the dimensions in millimeters.

Thanks
Gustavo

You know, I searched my Gmail, and I have privately received this question over two hundred times.gutto12 wrote: ↑16 Jan 2018, 20:58 Hi guys

The DXF is dimensional. It has an integral scale. You can open it in either inch or millimeter mode - if you get it wrong, the result will either be 25.4x too big or too small. So have your shop open it, if it's tiny, or huge, have them choose the other mode.
If you look at any page from the /Archivist site, I created reference drawings for every single part. I did this to ensure that there was no confusion about size. Here's an example:
http://diybookscanner.org/archivist/wp- ... leLeft.pdf
If you look at that PDF, it says the dimensions in inches. Any competent shop should be able to compare one drawing with one part and see if the scale is correct. If they aren't willing to do that, they are not worth using.

Daniel,
Thanks for the feedback and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey, it's cool. Please let me know if your shop is able to do it. Fact is, I probably did not explain this well enough on the Archivist pages.
