My name is AMT, and I stumbled across your site in attempts to build my own scanner. The result will be for research purposes and writing books. Perhaps scanning expensive books I can’t own? I believe in free information for the advancement of mankind and the preservation of historical literature. I am a Cook by trade, but an avid reader of Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Military Science/History, Psychology, and Molecular Gastronomy of course. Currently in the process of building a cradle and platen of my own, which I will upload once completed. Thank you for letting me join!
Daniel Reetz, the founder of the DIY Book Scanner community, has recently started making videos of prototyping and shop tips. If you are tinkering with a book scanner (or any other project) in your home shop, these tips will come in handy. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn0gq8 ... g_8K1nfInQ
